Mind/Matter Interaction - Psychokinesis (PK): Existence, Limitations, And Mechanisms
Researchers at the Rhine have observed psychokinesis (PK) with several different participants in a controlled setting. Effects have been observed repeatedly on an Egely Wheel (a pinwheel device, like a psi wheel, that is commercially produced), and Rhine researchers have not found any physical forces responsible for the observed effects. There is an indication from another lab that there may be physical forces that are affecting this device, and research is continuing to determine what is making the wheel turn.
In addition, one participant has demonstrated a consistent micro-PK effect. This participant is demonstrating effects on random number generators and other electronic systems. The effect is produced on-demand and the results far exceed variations expected by chance. With a participant that can consistently demonstrate this effect, it is possible to begin to explore the nature of this effect and the limitations. Controlled studies are being conducted to determine whether the observed effect is magnetic, electrical, or related to heat or light. These studies are being conducted in the laboratory but also from a distance of hundreds of miles using an internet connection.

Effects of Emotion and Attitude on Electronic Devices
Numerous people have demonstrated effects on electronic devices, and even more, people appear to unintentionally influence the behavior of electronics and even random number generators in a controlled setting. This study examined the effects of emotional situations on a real-world computer system to determine if there is a demonstrated effect on the electronics when a person becomes anxious, irritated, or frustrated. This project was supported by a grant from the BIAL Foundation.
This study is published in the Journal of Parapsychology [Full Article]
If we could free the mind from the absolute restrictions of the mechanisms of the senses, the effect upon the science of the mind—psychology—and upon man's whole view of himself would be almost too great to conjecture.

Field Investigation: Examination of RSPK with an Adolescent
After receiving a report of poltergeist-like activities, two investigators from the Rhine visited a site and observed disturbances that were classified as Recurrent Spontaneous Psychokinesis or RSPK. RSPK is the modern interpretation of what was previously called poltergeist activity. It occurs when an individual – in this case, an adolescent boy – is present in every case where a poltergeist-like effect is observed. The activity is interpreted as the result of unconscious psychokinesis activities coming from the individual who is called the PK-Agent.
A full examination of this case was completed and the activity was documented and presented at the conference of the Parapsychological Association in 2014. A subsequent study was completed (see below).
As a result of an investigation of apparent poltergeist activity, it was clear that the family involved in the investigation was uncomfortable and suffering. In order to assist the PK agent and to help the family to become more comfortable, several activities were recommended to reduce the occurrence of unconscious PK activity, thus reducing the apparent poltergeist activities.
After introducing some simple anxiety reduction and mindfulness techniques, the poltergeist activities nearly stopped. When anxiety was re-introduced into the situation, the activity started again and at a much higher level. After the stress-producing situation was resolved, the activity again subsided and has not returned.
The full examination and the interventions were published in the Journal of Parapsychology in 2014.
Can Our Minds Emit Light at a Distance? Mental Entanglement with a Photomultiplier
With this pre-registered confirmatory study, we aimed at replicating the findings observed in two previous experiments where the focused mental entanglement (ME) with a photomultiplier located approximately 7300 km far from the location of a small group of selected participants, showed an increase in the number of photons with respect to the control periods. In particular, we aimed at replicating the increase of approximately 5% of photons detected in the ME periods with respect to the control periods in the bursts of photons exceeding six standard deviations from their mean. The results observed in this study confirmed this increase replicating what was observed in the two previous experiments. We discuss the characteristics of these photons whose energy is estimated at approximately 65 eV at 788 THz and how ME can generate them at distance.
